The article I chose for this assignment involves the ongoing Colin Kaepernick saga in the NFL. As you may or may not have heard, during the the San Francisco 49ers's preseason games Kaepernick refused to stand during the singing of the national anthem, which is a tradition in the National Football League. He explained that he "is not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color".
