As the article say, the shifting time of flood is an important consequence about the climate changes in Europe. Worldwide it is one of the natural hazard that affect people the most. About $104 billions is lost globaly. It says that the climate change affect different regions by many ways depending on their position on the map. The North-Eastern Europe is affected earlier by the spring snowmelt. The north sea region have their winter storm later in the season, the mediterranean cost is affect the same way and the west of the Europe have the moisturizing of their soils earlier. To observe those changes, Günter Blöschl ,the autor of the study, analyzed data collected from 4200 hydrometric stations in Europe during a 50 years period. Base on those data, Blöschl think that management strategies need to be recognized.
That article is very interresting because these consequences can eventually came here and with the research of Blöschl it may be possible to prevent early or late flood caused by the climate change. Günter Blöschl also want to analyze the data further and I think he should do it because that can help the world population to prevent them and avoid death.
The reason why I choose this article is because of our position on the map. With all the people who lives on the shores of rivers and lakes and every spring, flood is on the show and do many damage to houses or cottage and with the climate change, maybe flood can be way more then what they’re now.
