Fraudulent Foundations

         People donate money to different medical foundations in hopes to raise awareness and further research. Many people do this to help ill patients, in memory of someone who they have known that passed from the sickness or to do what they think is a kind act of good heartedness. In recent years, some foundations have been found to be fraudulent. This means that they are advertising for people to donate money to their fictional foundation. Then when donations are made, the money is not going to a foundation but into the con artists’ pockets. Rebecca R.

The Effects of Racism on Youths

Patcher, Bernstein, Szalacha and Coll’s (2010) study investigated at which frequency children see or are in presence of racism. The hypothesis of this study was that racism could have negative impacts on the health and development of a child, but also on his emotional and psychological reactions.

Experiences of Racism Among African American Parents and the Mental Health of Their Preschool-Aged Children

Caughy, O’Campo and Muntaner’s (2004) study observed the relationship between how African American parents experienced racism and on how was their preschooler children’s mental health. The authors also examined the influence of the families’ neighborhoods on the two other variables named above. The authors hypothesized that the African-American parents’ experience of racism and how they responded to it had an effect on their children’s development and mental health. They also wanted to study if the neighborhood’s conditions had any influence on the other variables.

Kids got the Wrong Books?

Amina Chaudhri and William H. Teale did a study called “Stories of Multiracial Experiences in Literature for Children, Ages 9–14” (2013) and the study wanted to see stories of multiracial experiences in literature for children. The study is looking for racial discrimination in books that children read (9- 14 years old), the studied books for children that are based on a multiracial main character. The study starts by showing that literature is a tool for people and kids in order to build an identity, which is most important for children.

Many of the LGBTQ youth community face discrimination from their peers every day. Certain activities and that the community engages in can increase their empowerment and have a positive impact on their well-being.

Equal education is something that is really important in today’s world. As well as being a basic human right, education is the key to health and economic improvement. It also provides everyone the ability to read, write and to better understand the world that surrounds them. Everybody should have access to the right of learning and of developing their abilities to the maximum. Unfortunately, the lack of equality in today’s world prevents certain people from going to school. Indeed, girls in many underdeveloped countries do not have access to a good education.
