The Impact of Nutrition on Mental Health

Nutrition has an influence on mental health. It can affect your mood balance and your intellectual capacities.

Consumption of fruits, vegetables and fresh foods is good for the prevention of mental health problems like depression and anxiety. Processed foods lead to depression which then leads to an increased consumption of processed foods. A small consumption of alcohol can help you feel happier, but at the inverse, an excessive consumption of alcohol can make you feel depressed in the long run. Omega-3 fatty acids, contained in fishes make us feel happier.

A good breakfast influences the quality of your learning and can increase your grades. Some specific ingredients, like dark chocolate improve your level of concentration and help you stay awake in a natural way. A low caloric diet can increase your memory in the long run.

In conclusion, it is important to be aware that a good nutrition is important, not only for our physical health, but also for our mental health. A good nutrition can help us feel happier, have better grades, and be more concentrated.

I'm quite interested in the issue at hand, not many people understand the link between a healthy mental state and a healthy diet. I found the writing good, simple and straight to the point. I found no difficulty understanding the issue and your stand behind it.

I completely agree with your stand on the issue. People need to be more aware of, not only how diet effects you physically, but how it effects your mental health as well. On a personal note, It's easy to tell the difference of how I feel when eating unhealthy and processed food and when I eat healthy, natural and unprocessed foods. Unhealthy food leaving me feeling mentally drained and irritable while eating healthier foods makes me feel more mentally aware and in a better mood. Lots of studies have been done that prove the benefits of eating healthy. This link shows just what different types of food/vitamins help you in different ways.
