Friends For Mental Health "is a non-profit community organization that provides families and friends with the support, information and education they need to help them cope with a loved one’s mental illness."

This organization offers many services in regards to Mental Health support.

         They offer:

  • Psychosocial Intervention
  • Training of Mental Health supporters and volenteers
  • Support Groups
  • Information on Mental Health illnesses and support
  • Youth support
  • ETC...

This organization is extremely supportive of Mental Health illness, in fact it is their main drive. Considering 1 in 5 people suffer from mental illness this is not something that people should just dismiss or take lightly. It is important to take action and help supporters do what they do best and support. I'd highly recommend getting charitable whether it be by making a donation or by volenteering at a local Mental Health facility.

If getting charitable is something you might be interested in check out the links below.

As stated on the official Friends For Mental Health website, this organization is constantly on the lookout for volenteers. If you are fortunate enough to in the 4/5 of those who do not suffer from Mental Illness, take it upon yourself to give back by getting charitable this Holiday Season!!

Hi, Friends for Mental Health is great organisation to get involved with. It helps not only those suffering from mental illness but also their families. This organisation enables those who have certain difficulties, to still enjoy there life to the fullest extent. However this organisation does’t extend to those who have physical disabilities. That is why I’m going to mention another great organisation who strides in making every moment count, and enabling those who need help to get help. Défi Sportif Altergo,is a committed, competitive and driven organisation, “dedicated to the social inclusion of athletes with functional limitations.” They have a positive effect on these athletes, by giving them the opportunity to compete in competitions at a high-level against people who have been going through the same thing as they are. DSA has an Ongoing project of making, the practice of sports at a high level accessible to all, no matter their impairment. If you want to help this wonderful organisation, right now they are preparing for the Pan American Volleyball Championship, and the annual 7 days of competition in Montreal, and they are looking for people to referee, help prepare food and to help set up the equipment for these huge events.
