Sponsors and School

In the capitalist world that we live in, tuition fees are getting higher and higher. Some people cannot afford to go to university. Some charges can go up to 100 000 per year… A new phenomenon appeared not so long ago: firms are spotting the good students and are helping them monetarily and paying their education.
This is the story of a woman who went to Cambridge University and a sponsor helped her financially. She has been able to pass her courses because of that and is now explaining why it is important to be sponsored. Her main arguments are that many people are lacking money and firms will do all they can so you can succeed (and repay them certain interest… of course)
I was really curious about this article because it was something similar with something we saw in our humanities class. It was the story of 2 guys who became famous because a big firm sponsored them (they we’re completely sold to the company and doing promotion) and paid their university fees. It is a good idea in some case where the person can’t pay their school tuitions costs. Sponsors are almost assuring your success because money has A LOT of influence in our world. The only thing is I don’t think we should sell our lives for money and become firm’s slaves. There is an article that argue that a sponsor is necessary: http://www.theglobeandmail.com/report-on-business/careers/management/why-you-need-a-career-sponsor/article14643831/
