The launch of Apple’s new products could be the death of Microsoft

We notice more and more Apple products in our lives. Our friends and family are mostly turning these products for their ease of use and their instinctive navigation. The massive turn to Apple product could hurt others technology companies like Microsoft.
Apple’s new iWork, their version of Microsoft Office, will be free on every iPhone and iPad. This platform, continuously improving, will soon dethrone the classic Microsoft Office. When most firms will have made the switch to iPhones, iPads and Macs, the use of Microsoft Office will seem insignificant. Microsoft cannot compete anymore with Apple’s mobile phones and tablets. The situation could soon look like the crash experienced by BlackBerry. Apple does’nt need iWork for profits, they need it to eliminate the single argument why people keep buying PCs: the habit of using Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
I think it is sad for Apple’s competitor because often when they come up with a new product, Apple already did better. For example, the Samsung Smart Watch was denigrated by the critics because it can only be compatible with Samsung Galaxy phones, it costs 299$ and it is not as smart as it pretends to be. The competitors are having a hard time creating smart and relevant products that could be adopted by a large public. They are losing money to the profit of Apple. I am scared that in a couple of years, Apple will get the monopoly, and it’s us, customers, who will have to pay for it.
